April 29 ~ Miscellaneous Port Orford town and port pics

Sunday, 04-29-2001 ~ Dry, with strong winds from the south today. The other day I was reviewing some images on my hard drive and came across several pics that have yet to be posted. The first set of photos below were shot on April 4, 2001 from the Port of Port Orford. The first image is a view from the Port looking back at Battle Rock. Next is a view of Battle Rock Beach with the Sea Crest Hotel above. The third picture shows the Port's new hoists with the Castaway Hotel above.

The next set of pics were shot the same day. First is Graveyard Point. The next two images show Tichenor Rock, Hell's Gate, and the Port Orford Headland. Click here to visit a Past Pics feature with more pictures from this day

Dan Hill took these photos from his home a couple days ago. His first image shows Tichenor Rock and Hell's Gate creating an interesting current formation. Next is his view of the Port. The last image is a sunset scene shot a few months back.

Dan took this next set of photos during a recent helicopter trip over Port Orford. The first image is a view looking west towards Agate Beach. Next is a view looking towards Coast Guard Hill. His final picture was shot looking south down Highway 101 with Orford Cove at the top.

Norma took the first image below during a plane ride a few years back. The overhead pic is a view looking north at the old Port, Battle Rock, Port Orford, Lake Garrison, and Pacific Ocean beyond. I shot the next two images from the Port Beach parking area.

The next set of pics show some Lamas grazing on the lot adjacent to our office.

The first two images below of Orford Cove and Humbug Mountain were shot from the front our office. Our final sunset photo was taken last Friday from Paradise Point.
